Katharine Bowen: Practice Manager
20170829 124434 resized-201-80 Katharine worked as a vet nurse in Christchurch before joining The Vet Centre when it opened in 1998. Initially working as a vet nurse, then moving into an administration position Katharine has recently been appointed the role of Practice Manager. Her years of experience in veterinary practice, the variety of roles within these practices and her farm background have given her a great all-round knowledge of our business.
Katharine lives on a lifestyle block with a variety of animals and is the proud mother of 3 adult children.

Jess Gibson: Administration Manager
Jess Gibson Jess came to the Vet Centre in 2002 after graduating from Nelson Polytechnic with her Certificate in Veterinary Nursing. Jess has a keen interest in Canine breeding and behaviour and has studied these at a Diploma level in 2007. After 15 years of Veterinary Nursing she has shifted from Nurse Manager to Admin Manager where she is enjoying learning a different part of the business, while still having lots of cuddles with the patients. Outside of work Jess enjoys family time with her husband, daughter and 3 Bullmastiffs. In her spare time, she has fun showing their Bullmastiffs and travelling.
Maree Jones: Administration 
20170818 100514-877 Maree qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2001, working in Wellington for four years before moving back to her home town Blenheim. She started working at The Vet Centre in 2006 as a veterinary nurse until going on maternity leave in 2011. Maree has joined us again assisting our administration team and looks after most of our large animals bookings. She and her husband have previously been sharemilking in Canvastown for 5 years with their 2 children. In her spare time she enjoys exercising her golden retriever Zac and her huntaway Bear, fishing and boating.
Heath Dickson: Sales & Merchandise Manager
Heath Dickson-81 Heath was born in Southland but grew up on a 1500 acre farm in Wairau Valley, Marlborough. He spent a lot of time helping his family run a sheep, beef, and deer operation as he went through school. At the end of college he headed off to Otago University where he completed a Bachelor of Human Nutrition and a Bachelor of Marketing Management. After spending 6 years marketing brands in the liquor industry he finally made the decision to step back into a very familiar area – agriculture. He now lives with his wife Josie in Renwick where they have 2 cats, a few chickens and a golden retriever puppy. In his spare time he plays hockey and goes hunting when he can.
Julie Hill: Reception Manager
41-982-918 Julie is originally from South Canterbury.  She graduated from Otago Polytech, and since then has worked at Orana Wildlife Park, Perth Zoo and Murdoch University in Western Australia in their emergency department and critical care unit.  Julie has been nursing at The Vet Centre since 2001, and has now shifted from nursing to reception where she enjoys the client contact. She lives in Blenheim with her husband, their two children, their Golden Retriever Maverick and two beautiful Birmans Leo and Lilly. 
Sheree Dillon: Receptionist 
20170721 141412 resized (1)-686-480 After being a hairstylist for 15 years, Sheree decided to have a change and with her passion and love for animals she started working at The Vet Centre in 2017. Sheree is on reception where she still gets the people contact that she knows and also get to meet and greet all the loved family pets.
Sheree has two beloved dogs and now two cats- one of them adopted soon after starting work at The Vet Centre. A full house now but enjoying every minute. Sheree loves her position and all the challenges it entails. 
Derryn Davidson: Telephonist
IMG 0448-418 Derryn started working part-time at The Vet Centre in 2010 while completing her National Certificate in Vet Nursing through the Otago Polytechnic. Originally from Manawatu she moved to Marlborough in 2001 with her family to enjoy the lifestyle it offers. She loves all animals but has a special interest in small mammals, birds and reptiles. Out of the clinic Derryn enjoys spending time with her family and two energetic boxers.
Caroline Simpson: Weekend Receptionist / Nurse
 MG 0189-981-992 Caroline was trained as a vet nurse through the Otago Polytechnic and began working part-time at The Vet Centre in 2002. Caroline brings with her experience from working in medical laboratories in Nelson and Wellington prior to entering the veterinary nursing field,.
Outside of the Vet Centre Caroline is kept busy with her three daughters who share their home with their Birman cats.
Georgia White: Part-time Receptionist
Georgia White-194 Georgia is a casual receptionist who is also studying full time to become a Vet Nurse. She has always been passionate about animals and loves spending time in the outdoors or with her three cats, Minka, Tolvi and Violet. She hopes to one day have a German Shepherd that she can take on adventures with her.
