Large & small, we care for them all

All dogs over the age of three months must be microchipped, failure to do so can result in a fine of $300. But aside from the legal requirement, microchipping can save a lot of heartache and worry if your dog, or cat, goes missing.

Microchip_vet.jpgEvery year, many thousands of cats and dogs are lost, escape or are stolen. But what is most upsetting is that many of these pets are needlessly euthanized at overcrowded SPCAs or council shelters because the owner can’t be located. All animals are now routinely scanned for microchips at all animal shelters, vet clinics and SPCAs. If your pet has a microchip, a quick check of the database can mean an immediate reunion.

Microchips are painlessly inserted by injection above the shoulders. The chips are about the size of a grain of rice and are completely safe for your pet.
